Nora Whitfield

Writer · Walker · Keeper of small notebooks

Hello — I am Nora. I write short essays about ordinary days, long walks and the things people leave behind. This page is a place to say who I am before you wander any further.

I grew up in a house full of books and spent ten years working in bookshops before I began writing full time. These days I rise early, make one strong coffee, and fill a few pages before the town wakes up. Most of what I publish starts life as a scribble in a pocket notebook.

When I am not writing you will find me on the coast path with a camera I barely know how to use, or in the kitchen attempting the same loaf of bread for the hundredth time. I believe in slow work, honest sentences, and leaving a little room to breathe on the page.

How to use this template

Open index.html in Notepad and type over the words to make this page your own — the name, the story and the facts are all plain text. Then open style.css, where the colours and spacing live; short comments in that file point to each section. Save, refresh your browser, and you will see the change straight away.
