Some things are easier to see in a table than in a paragraph. This little page keeps a running record of a few everyday habits — just enough to notice a trend without turning life into a spreadsheet.
| Habit | This month | Last month | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steps walked | 214,300 | 187,900 | +14% |
| Books finished | 3 | 2 | +1 |
| Nights cooked at home | 19 | 21 | −2 |
| Average sleep | 7h 20m | 6h 50m | +30m |
| Cups of coffee | 42 | 38 | +4 |
Notes underneath
Tables are honest about what they leave out, so it helps to say a few words below them. A number on its own rarely tells the whole story — the sentence beside it usually does.
- September was a walking month. The extra steps came mostly from leaving the car at home on weekdays.
- Cooking at home slipped a little, which is the sort of small dip that is easy to miss until it is written down.
- Sleep improved once the evening reading habit returned. The two numbers seem to travel together.
Not everything that counts can be counted, and not everything that can be counted counts. Track a few things well rather than everything badly.
How to use this template
Open index.html in Notepad and edit the words in
each <td> cell to match your own habits. Add or
remove a whole row by copying one <tr> block and
pasting it above or below. Then open style.css
— the colours and spacing at the top of that file control
everything you can see here. Save both files, refresh your browser,
and you are done. The workflow is always the same: edit, save,
refresh.
