A scrapbook of small things

Memory Wall

Photographs, short notes, and warm paper.

us, one summer

This is a wall for the little things: the mornings, the kitchen tables, the long drives home. Every card below is a small page of its own, set at a friendly angle, as if it were taped up in a scrapbook.

Keep it for photographs, for quotes that stuck with you, or for the ordinary days you would like to remember. There is room for as many cards as you like.

How to use this template

Open index.html in any text editor and change the words inside the cards. Open style.css to change the colours, the paper, or the angles. To use a real photograph, find the .photo rules near the top of the stylesheet and swap the gradient for your own image — the comment there shows you exactly how. Then save, and refresh the page. That is the whole workflow.

The wall

The morning we found the lighthouse — and climbed it twice, just to be sure.

August · the coast

Nan’s kitchen. Always warm, always something quietly bubbling on the stove.

Winter · home

“We didn’t know we were making memories. We just knew we were having fun.”

Pinned above the desk

The first tomatoes of the summer, eaten warm off the vine with a little salt.

July · the garden

Rain hammered the caravan roof all night. Nobody minded one bit.

October · the lakes

The dog who hated the sea, and barked at every single wave.

May · the beach

Pancakes every Sunday. The first one is always for the cook.

Weekly · the kitchen

Remember to take more photographs of the ordinary days — they turn out to be the good ones.

A note to self

The long road north, windows down, one good song on repeat.

September · the drive

A jar of sea glass, collected one colour at a time.

June · the shore

Fireworks over the harbour, and a very late walk home afterwards.
