Garden Club

A friendly circle of growers — beginners always welcome.

Garden Club is a page for people who grow things together — a village society, an allotment circle, or a few neighbours who share a watering can. Meeting dates, seasonal jobs and member projects all live here, with a small row of pictures from the plot.

To make this template your own, open index.html in Notepad and type over any words you like. The layout, the colours and the little garden tiles are all in style.css beside it, where short comments mark each section. Save the file, refresh the browser, done.

Seasonal tips

Four small jobs that keep a plot happy through the year. Swap them for whatever your own group is doing this month.

  • Water deeply, less often

A slow soak at the roots beats a daily sprinkle. Early morning is kindest, before the sun carries it all away.

  • Feed the soil, not just the plant

A handful of compost tucked around each stem does more good than any bottle from the shop.

  • Sow a little, and often

Small successional rows keep the table busy all summer, without a glut arriving in a single week.

  • Keep a note of what worked

A line in a notebook in October is worth an hour of guessing when spring comes round again.

Member projects

  • Community

    The community herb bed

Thyme, sage and mint along the lane, with a small sign inviting passers-by to pick a sprig for their supper.

  • Young growers

    Sunflower height chart

The children's plot measures its sunflowers every Friday. The record to beat stands at eleven feet.

  • Sharing

    The seed library

A shoebox of labelled envelopes in the hall — take what you need, and leave what you can spare.

From the plot

A small photo row, drawn entirely in CSS. Use the comments in style.css to swap any tile for your own picture — the sizing rules are already written for you.

How to use this template

Everything here is plain HTML and CSS, so there is nothing to install. Change the words in index.html; change the colours, spacing and fonts in style.css. Every part of the stylesheet begins with a short comment, so you can find it quickly. When you are happy, save and refresh — that is the whole workflow.
