Every walk is worth a record. This little book keeps the small things — a leaf turned over, a beetle under a log, the colour of the light before rain. Write down what you see, sketch what you can, and leave the rest to the margins.
How to use this template. Open index.html in Notepad and type over any of the words you see. Everything visual — colours, ruled lines, spacing and cards — lives in style.css beside it, and short comments there point to each section. Save, refresh, and your change appears.
Keep a pencil in the spine.

The meadow at first light
Mist sat in the low corner by the gate until almost eight. The grass was heavy with dew and every web showed as a small grey wheel. Nothing moved but one crow, working the fence line.
Something under the log
Lifted the old oak log by the stream and found a ground beetle, glossy and quick, sheltering in the damp. I did not photograph it — I sketched it instead, below.
On the light before rain
The sky went the colour of tin by four o’clock, and the swallows dropped low. No rain came, but the whole field seemed to be waiting for it.
